What began as a love for the artistry of hair evolved into years of working with clients, salon ownership, advanced education and an understanding of what women truly want from their hair: quality, versatility, confidence and a beautiful result that never compromises the health of their own hair.

Timika Royston
MASTER STYLIST • EDUCATOR • FOUNDER
Timika Royston’s career in beauty began in Chicago in 1995, when she attended Pivot Point International Academy while apprenticing under her cousin, seasoned Chicago master stylist Charles Oliver, owner of Oliver Twist Hair Salon. It was there that she developed an early appreciation for precision, professional technique and the importance of caring for the hair beneath every style.

Formally trained at Pivot Point International Academy, Timika’s early career was shaped by hands-on mentorship, salon experience and a commitment to healthy hair. Her introduction to professional product education taught her that beautiful results begin with understanding the individual needs of the hair.
Her career evolved from stylist to salon owner, ultimately leading a full-service Chicago salon with a team of beauty professionals. Throughout those years, Timika continued advanced education in cutting, hair care and extensions while remaining grounded in healthy-hair principles.
In 2020, Timika transitioned from the traditional full-service salon model to a more intimate private-suite experience in Hyde Park. Today, Hair By Blyss brings together decades of expertise with personalized one-on-one service centered on comfort, privacy and exceptional hair care.
